Miami- Cruise Capital of the WORLD!!

Miami is often called the"Gateway to Latin America". Of course we have Miami International Airport but today we are going to talk about transportation that sails the open seas.Today, we are talking... cruises.

There are many cruise liners that call Miami home. The well known companies are:

• Carnival Cruise Lines ( Headquartered in Miami)
• Celebrity Cruises  
• Royal Carribean ( Headquartered in Miami)
• Norwegein Cruise Lines  ( Headquarted in Miami)

Less well know are:

• Azamara Cruise Lines
• Costa Cruises
• Crystal Cruises
• Oceania Cruises

Ports of call include exotic places including: Ocho Rios in   Jamaica, Grand Caymen in  Caymen Islands, Cozumel in Mexico and numerous others.



In 2009/2010 there were 4.5 million cruise passengers using the ports seven terminals. Each terminal moves its customers from the land to the sea very quickly and efficiently. There is an  area to park your car long term. Many use the services of a local limousine  or taxi company.
