Did You Know? Miami ...

Miami is a popular spot for the filming and television industry. Our  long days of sunshine and wonderful climate is ideal for film making. Florida ranks third in the nation for film production based on revenue.

Miami is one of the largest distribution and production facilities in the areas of:

  • Film
  • Television
  • Commercial advertising
  • Still photographs
  • Music
The above industries economic impact pours two billion dollars each year into the local economy. Over 1000 film locations shoots produce between $100-150 million dollars per annum. There are about 3,000 companies working in this industry  employing approximately 15,000 people.

Of course, you would have had to live on some far off planet not to be  aware of the 1980's series, Miami Vice and the movie " The Birdcage" with its stunning views of our South Beach at night.

Recently the following television series have also been filmed in the southern most state in union:

  • The Glades
  • Magic City
  • Burn Notice
  • Charlie's Angels
Films produced and set in Miami include:

  • Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
  • The Bodyguard
  • Casino Royale and Goldfinger, another James Bond film
  • Lady in Cement ( from 1968)

  • New in Town
  • Scarface
  • Some Like it Hot ( starring the infamous Marilyn Monroe)
  • True Lies
Our close location to Latin America also allows us to produce many Latin television productions, including game shows, variety shows and telenovelas, a short series "Spanish soap opera".  The daytime talk show Cristina is filmed in Miami.
