French Cinema Miami Festival: November 4-6, 2011

Enjoy first run French films with English subtitles. Flicks include Tu seras mon fils (You will be my son), Monsieur Papa ( Mister Dad), Rien a declarer( Nothing to declare) and Un jour mon pere viendra( Someday My Day Will Come) .


Barnacle Under Moonlight : November 11, 2011



Family date night at Barnacle State Park in Coconut Grove. Enjoy music from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.


Miami Book Fair : November 13-20, 2011

End the year with this international book fair with authors from all over the planet. There is a street fair with many exhibitors and booksellers. Bring the children to the infamous Children's Alley.

Miami is a popular spot for the filming and television industry. Our  long days of sunshine and wonderful climate is ideal for film making. Florida ranks third in the nation for film production based on revenue.

Miami is one of the largest distribution and production facilities in the areas of:

• Still photographs
• Music

The above industries economic impact pours two billion dollars each year into the local economy. Over 1000 film locations shoots produce between $100-150 million dollars per annum. There are about 3,000 companies working in this industry  employing approximately 15,000 people.
